Serving Union City, Georgia
Tree work for Union City, between Fairburn and College Park in south Fulton County.
South Fulton
Union City is a south Fulton County city incorporated by the Georgia General Assembly in 1908. Its name is usually traced either to a junction where rail lines met or to a Farmers' Union once headquartered there. The 2020 Census counted 26,830 residents on roughly 19.8 square miles, about 16 miles from Peachtree City. Established residential streets sit beside newer development along the commercial corridors, so a removal here can mean an old backyard oak behind a long-settled house or a tall pine beside a newer driveway.

Trees & Storms
The tall pines on the I-85 side of Union City take the brunt of the summer storms that cross south Fulton, and the clay beneath them softens when a storm stalls and keeps raining. UGA Extension's warning signs apply here: a root plate that has lifted, cracks in the soil around the trunk, or mushrooms and conks at the base. Southern pine beetles are the other pine problem in this part of Georgia, and the Georgia Forestry Commission lists pitch tubes, boring dust, and needles fading to red and brown as the signs.
Typical Union City jobs include a storm-leaning pine near the house, deadwood hanging over a roof, and stumps left from older removals. Removal, trimming, and stump grinding go on a single written price.
Local Tree Rules
We found no private-lot tree removal permit in Union City's code when we checked on September 28, 2026, so taking down a tree in an existing yard generally doesn't involve city paperwork. A rule missing from the code isn't a ruling, though, so before clearing more than a tree or two, call Union City Community Development and confirm. Development projects go through their own review, and an HOA, if your street has one, can set stricter rules than the city does.
Older lots and newer development sit close together in Union City, so access, truck parking, and the drop zone are worked out for your street before the work day.
On the I-85 side, the tall pines get checked for lean, root heave, and old storm damage before anything else on the lot is priced.
A stump left from an old removal can be ground below grade on a visit of its own, so the yard can be reseeded or replanted without waiting on a bigger job.
